We can’t provide “needed security” for July 6 demonstration, police to NDC

The police say it cannot provide the “needed security” for the planned “A March for Justice” demonstration being organised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC had earlier notified the police of the party’s intention to demonstrate on 6 July.

The party said the demonstration is to demand justice for all the recent killings and to seek social justice for all unemployed youth in the country.

In a letter to the NDC, the police said, “We cannot provide the needed security during the intended demonstration and street protest” due to existing COVID-19 restrictions.
