Artists’ feud are common in the world and is increasingly becoming popular in our part. The Ghana music industry has had its’ share of artists’ beef. Many artists in Ghana have been involved in beef and sometimes it gets serious to the extent of revealing deep secrets. Admittedly, some are orchestrated for monetary gains and others for supremacy in the play of words.
Undoubtedly, Shatta Wale & Stonebwoy’s feud if not, is one of the biggest in the era however, rappers; Denning Edem Hotor and Bismark Agbeko Yakah both known in showbiz as Edem and Agbeko respectively had their own share of beef those days when they were both signed on the same record label by the renowned producer, Hammer of the “Last Two record”.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak hitz (Hitz 103.9FM) last year, Edem stated that, he wouldn’t have any sense of urgency to help rapper Agbeko even if he sees him dying or in trouble.
“I don’t know that line between ‘its music and its personal’. For me, music is personal so if I have a beef with someone it wouldn’t be on a song. If I hate you, it’s for real and I wouldn’t be your friend, for real,”Edem explained.
His comment revealed that the two are still having a bad blood and mediation looks difficult.
In a recent interview with PulseTV, monitored by this website, rapper Edem alluded to the fact that, it is the media that fuels beef amongst artists and unlike the media’s nature which is to mediate, they end up encouraging feud.
When asked specifically the reason he refused to make peace with Agbeko, Edem stated;
“Peace with an artist should be made in a board room or should be made at a place. At this point in my career, peace should make money and if it is not going to make money, I am not in it”.
Edem spoke on other things in the video including his break-up with socialite Confidence Haugen. Watch the video below.
