You don’t need millions of words to get yourself into trouble.

It’s just a matter of a word.

How sad it is that many are in prison not because of robbery, murder…but because of just few inappropriate words spoken by them.

Many opportunities have been lost; numerous relationships have been broken: many wars have devastated countries just because of unwise talk.

So, watch your words! What words do you speak on phone? What do you type on face book, Skype, twitter etc.? Be very careful of your words, they may make or unmake you.

If you like lying, you may be overcome by evil forces.

Many men of substance have found themselves wanting in the Supreme Courts of their country just because of few words they uttered wrongly.

No wonder the Bible says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Col.4: 6)

The Bible continues to admonish us through the following texts.

Ephesians 4:29 ESV “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

Matthew 15:11 ESV “It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

Proverbs 17:28 ESV “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

Ecclesiastes 5:2-4 ESV “Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth.

Therefore, let your words be few.

For a dream comes with much business and a fool’s voice with many words…”

Do you remember when you missed a lot of opportunities such as a job, a potential husband or wife… because of your mouth? May God help you and me to be able to tame our tongue in order to say good things
