Residents of Navrongo came out in their numbers wearing red and black as the Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia led a government delegation to bid farewell to the former Aviation Minister and MP, Joseph Kofi Adda on Saturday,
The atmosphere at the COS Park, venue for the burial service, was nothing short of sorrow and pain as tributes of the late statesman kept pouring in.
Adda, who served as MP for the Navrongo Central constituency spanning beyond three terms and held various ministerial positions in the J.A Kufuor and Nana Addo governments, died on 14 October 2021 in Accra after a short illness.
Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta, Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic diocese, the celebrant in the homily, eulogised late Adda for his enormous contributions to the development and growth of Navrongo, the Christian faith and the country as a whole.
Bishop Agyenta, who urged residents and other politicians to emulate Adda’s exemplary leadership, was particularly touched by the interventions Adda brought to health care delivery in the Navrongo area which greatly helped to reduce infant mortality.
