A church building at Gbawe Borla in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra region has collapsed injuring at least 20 congregants.
The injured are mostly babies and women, hospital officials have told Starrfmonline.com.
Three church members of the Christ Life Ministry are in critical condition and have been referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The 17 others are being treated at the Ga South Municipal hospital popularly known as Akawe at the McCarthy Hill Junction.The tragedy occurred Sunday, May 7, 2017 during a heavy rainstorm which swept through Ghana’s capital Accra.According to an hospital official, the victims are suffering from fractures in various parts of the body while one of them is currently unconscious.
It is still raining in Accra as some parts experience flooding.
